Avaya Spaces Makes its UK Debut
Avaya have announced the launch of Avaya Spaces in the UK.
The app integrates web meetings and team collaboration, creating a cloud workspace in which messaging, meeting, sharing content, and managing tasks from a browser or mobile device is all possible. Commenting on the UK launch of Spaces, Steve Joyner, Managing Director (recently appointed), Avaya U.K. & Ireland, said business leaders need to empower teams to work in more effective and productive ways using their preferred channels and touchpoints.
To offer a glimpse into a seismic paradigm shift we’re witnessing today, Gartner forecasts, by 2023, fewer than one-third of digital workers will choose the office as their preferred place to work, meaning companies must adapt to stay competitive and to retain satisfied employees.
And this is what Avaya hopes to combat, Joyner adding, “The launch of Avaya Spaces comes at a crucial time for the industry with the ever-evolving needs of the digital experience economy, like the growing number of ways for customers and employees to engage.”
He said he believes Avaya’s new communication and collaboration tool will deliver the CX and UX needed to satisfy both employees and customers. Now accessible in over 60 countries, Spaces has a ton of features, and here’s a quick breakdown of some of them:
- Messaging, meetings, file sharing, and task management
- HD video meetings (up to 500 participants) with recording and content sharing
- Integration with Avaya IX Collaboration Unit CU360 huddle and SIP-based video room systems
- Browser and mobile app access along with Google, Slack, Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and Teams integrations
- User administration via Avaya Aura, and Avaya IP Office
Accessing Spaces means you’ll need to purchase one of Avaya’s flexible subscription-based packages. On a monthly or annual payment plan, you gain access to the latest releases, advanced support, and can exceed the number of max subscribers by 20 percent at no extra cost, offering a great deal of flexibility. There is a 90 day trial for available for anyone who registers online.
In a virtual press conference held by Avaya today, reporters got a full demo of Avaya Spaces, and when it comes to ease-of-use and functionality, this is one of the most user-friendly collaboration systems I have ever seen. It also has literal every feature remote workers, office employees, and students might need, and some they didn’t know they needed.
Looking toward the future, Joyner said, Avaya wants to add automatic meeting transcription, automatic translation leveraging Google and Microsoft translation engines, and the company wants to eliminate background noise, too. This is, in addition to expanding the languages Spaces is available in, along with providing API access to the platform.
For growing UK companies and partners, Avaya’s entrance into the market frankly couldn’t come at a better time. For those who want to scale their consumption based on ‘specific and evolving needs, should take a gander at Avaya Spaces. The same goes for resellers looking for an offering that could basically sell itself because of the amount of value it extends.
