SecureData Joins Forces With Orange Cyberdefense
SecureData and Orange has this week announced that they have joined forces with Orange Cyberdefense, with SecureData becoming an Orange Group company.
Orange is one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, with sales of circa €41 billion and approx. 150,000 employees operating across 28 countries. Orange Cyberdefense Division (“OCD”) is a leading provider of security services to large multinational enterprise customers, as well as French large national accounts and small and medium businesses. With annual sales approaching €300 million and over 1,300 security experts, Orange Cyberdefense is the market leader in France and ranked 6th in the European security service market.
SecureData is the leading independent cybersecurity services and solutions provider operating in the UK, with revenues of circa £50m, annual growth rates of >20% and over 200 employees. SecureData provides a comprehensive range of professional, support and managed cybersecurity services to both private and public sector customers. SecureData’s consultancy arm SensePost includes some of the world’s most preeminent security experts, who in addition to advising customers, participate in defining security standards, provide regular research for the benefit of the industry and advise national governments and defence organisations.
The acquisition of SecureData will significantly expand OCD’s operations, with the UK being the largest Western European market for managed security services. It will also enable the expansion of its operations in the African continent through SecureData’s South African business. SecureData’s existing Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Maidstone will add to the existing 9 Cyber SOC’s and 4 CERT’s around the globe, allowing SecureData to provide an enhanced range of services to both national and international customers. SecureData will also be partnering with other parts of the Orange Group, including Orange Business Services, to deliver cybersecurity services to the enlarged group’s customer base.
Ian Brown, Executive Chairman at SecureData commented “We are both thrilled and excited to be joining the Orange Cyberdefense family. Both organisations share the same vision and aspiration for the cybersecurity market and have many complementary services and skills. By being part of Orange, we will be able to better serve the international needs of many of our existing customers as well as providing enhanced cyber services to Orange customers within the UK”.
Hugues Foulon, Executive Director of Strategy and Cybersecurity of Orange commented: “Achieving leadership within the European CyberSecurity market by 2022 is a strategic goal of the Orange Group. We view our acquisition of SecureData as a significant milestone in achieving that aspiration. We are excited not just by the market and financial achievements of SecureData but also the addition of their highly talented team to the Orange Cyberdefense family. As a result of the partnership, we look forward to accelerating the growth plans of both organisations”.
