DigiPlex launches new colo hall in Stockholm data centre

Data Centre

DigiPlex has announced that it has taken measures to satiate increasing customer demand.

The colocation service provider has opened an additional server hall in its Stockholm data centre, tailored for customers with one or more server racks who want their IT environment housed in one of Sweden’s most environmentally efficient data centres.

“The companies turning to DigiPlex want the Nordic region’s most sustainable, energy efficient and secure colocation,” says DigiPlex CEO Gisle M. Eckhoff.

“At our data centre outside Stockholm, we now offer a dedicated server hall with the same high quality for customers with smaller storage needs. Data centres are at the core of all digitalisation and companies that place their servers with us can assure their customers and users that their data centre solution is future proof.”

The company quotes a recent report carried out by IDG Connect on behalf of DigiPlex - A Perfect Storm: Nordic Datacentre Trends 2018 - found that 69 percent of the decision makers surveyed believe that constant and fast access to data is crucial for their company's competitiveness.

Per Lähdet, who was appointed operations manager at DigiPlex in Sweden in October 2018, says it’s this market that the company is looking to target as the amount of data that must be stored in a secure and accessible manner is increasing exponentially every year, placing huge demands on companies and organisations.

“In our new hall, we can deliver a secure, safe and climate-smart IT environment within 1–2 days for customers with smaller demands,” says M. Eckhoff.

“I very much look forward to welcoming more customers to DigiPlex outside Stockholm and supporting them in their growth.”

One of the companies that have already committed to the new hall is DataCom.

“DataCom is in an expansive growth phase due to a large influx of new customers into our hosting business. To meet the growing demand from our customers for communication and hosting services, it was therefore natural to choose DigiPlex as our partner to complement our own data centres,” says DataCom AB CEO Mario Hellqvist.

DigiPlex’s data centre outside Stockholm features a number of innovations in energy efficiency and sustainability, like its Air-to-Air cooling system and concept for recycling of excess heat where housing in Stockholm and Oslo will be heated through the district heating networks.
