Colt Technology Services has this week announced the appointment of Mark Gilmour as its Head of Mobile Connectivity Solutions.
An experienced technical leader in the industry, Mark will be reporting directly to Colt’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Keri Gilder, with his role focused on leading and expanding Colt’s mobile connectivity proposition. Mark will play a pivotal role in driving Colt’s mobile strategy while working with teams globally to strengthen the business’s position in the mobile market.
Keri commented: “The reach and density of the Colt IQ Network across key metros all around the globe makes Colt a strong partner for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) as they start readying themselves for a 5G world. Mark has extensive experience in this space, and I am thrilled that his wealth of knowledge about the mobile industry will shape Colt’s mobile strategy.”
Mark has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry and joins from Ciena where he held many roles across the business. Most recently he was the Senior Advisor for Product Line Management Cellular and Wireless, where he was responsible for bringing products to life in the wireless/cellular segment.
Over his career, Mark has also held various roles at mobile operators such as Three, Ericsson and Hutchison.
Speaking of his appointment, Mark said: “Colt’s network assets put it in the best possible position to be able to assist MNOs to define and cement their mobile backhaul strategies. While there’s a lot of talk in the market about 5G, there are many ways in which businesses can be making the most of their 4G networks.
“Colt can be a key partner in this space, and I’m excited to be joining the business at a pivotal time where many are looking to get the most out of their cellular networks to be ready for whatever the future may hold.”
Mark is based in Colt’s London headquarters, Colt House and joined the organisation in January, 2019.
