Logitech and Plantronics end acquisition discussions

Logitech has confirmed that it was in talks to acquire headset vendor Plantronics, but said these discussions have been terminated.
On Friday Reuters reported that Logitech had offered more than $2.2bn (£1.7bn) for Plantronics, citing "people familiar with the matter".
In a brief statement, Switzerland-based Logitech said that talks had taken place, but had not gone any further.
The statement read: "In response to media reports and in accordance with Swiss disclosure requirements, Logitech International today confirmed it was engaged in discussions with Plantronics regarding a potential transaction.
"However, those discussions were terminated. Logitech does not intend to comment further."
Both vendors are no strangers to acquisitions, with Logitech spending $85m on gaming headset vendor Astro Gaming last year and Plantronics more recently shelling out $2bn for Polycom.
Logitech currently has a market cap of CHF5.85bn (£4.57bn), while Plantronics' is at just over $2bn.
