Making collaboration easier and more efficient, Mitel, a global leader in business communications, have announced the launch of MiTeam Meetings, a continuous collaboration meeting solution that tightly integrates video, chat and voice with Mitel’s MiCollab application to provide a real-time, virtual meeting and workspace.
Today’s globalized business environment presents challenges to effective team collaboration. Remote workers, time zones and geographic boundaries can delay decision-making, slow productivity and lead to the use of shadow IT. Disconnected communication channels can also be costly and complex for a business to manage. Additionally, many organizations are restricting employee travel amid growing public health concerns. Addressing these issues, Mitel is leveraging the Amazon Web Services global cloud infrastructure to provide an integrated experience that brings together dispersed and global teams through collaboration tools that drive seamless, live interactions from anywhere, on any device.
In a recent survey of 2,500 business professionals across North America, Western Europe and Australia, 74 percent of respondents said better communications and collaboration tools would help improve their personal productivity. More than half also ranked face-to-face meetings as the most effective way to communicate and nearly 40 percent expect video meetings to become more frequent in the next three to five years. With MiTeam Meetings businesses can unleash productivity and enable employees to collaborate effortlessly as if they are in the same room.
Simple to deploy, manage and support, the solution allows fluid movement between voice, chat and video, giving teams the ability to continuously collaborate and deepen connections through immersive, face-to-face meetings without the need for unnecessary travel. Collaboration no longer ends when a meeting does. Users can return to their group’s workspace, refer to captured notes, review shared documents and even kickoff the next meeting – all from within the same application. Continuous collaboration is freed from the constraints of a place, day or window of time.
MiTeam Meetings utilizes Mitel’s CloudLink architecture, which helps customers maximize investments in previous generation technology, while integrating cloud-based applications at their own pace. The new meetings capability is built within the MiCollab application suite and seamlessly integrates into Mitel private cloud or premises-based platforms. As part of the development alignment efforts across Mitel’s unified communications and collaboration portfolio, the new collaboration functionality will also be extended to other aspects of the portfolio in the coming months.
Quotes
“I want to be able to provide my employees with the best tools and technology to collaborate seamlessly, using voice, video or chat, and from a single vendor. MiTeam Meetings makes that possible and, ultimately, effective collaboration is what leads to a championship on the field,” said Ray Chan, Vice President of Information Technology, San Diego Padres.
“The very nature of when, where and how we work is changing. Dispersed teams, time zones, and remote and deskless workers require new ways of communicating and collaborating,” said Tarun Loomba, Chief Product Officer, Mitel. “With the ability to continuously collaborate, businesses can capture the essential ingredients for effective teamwork, enrich the meeting experience and fuel employee productivity. With boundaries erased, meetings on the other side of the world now feel like they’re happening right across the table.”
