UK data centre market remains largest in Europe - study
The latest Datacentrepricing report on the UK data centre market from Tariff Consultancy hows that 3rd party data centre space has increased by 48 percent over the last four years, with power increasing by 100 percent.
Data Centre C expansion in the UK in 2nd-half 2019 was in line with 1st-half 2019 at around 27,000 sq mt. New space announced comes from NTT, Virtus and xScale. London has the largest share of data centre floor space at 32 percent, followed by Slough and Cardiff.
The report shows that the UK data centre market remains the largest in Europe, with one third more space than the second largest market Germany. The London Data Centre cluster is now the 4th largest in Europe, falling behind the Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Paris city clusters based on data centre space as of end-2019.
