T-Systems to open Telekom Cloud data centre in Amsterdam
T-Systems announced plans to open its second European location for the Open Telekom Cloud in Amsterdam. This is part of an expansion of the Telekom Cloud based in Bavaria. In Amsterdam, the company has partnered with local data centre operator NLDC.
The Open Telekom Cloud offers an alternative to public cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, using Open Stack standards and offering European data protection levels. T-Systems said the new site in Amsterdam will increase capacity as well as serve as a back-up for its German operations, improving redundancy.
The first customers are expected to start using the Amsterdam site from mid-2020.
