Bristol-based SSE Enterprise Telecoms has ordered a new fibre route in order to connect its 12,000km UK-wide network to the Next Generation Data data centre in Newport.
SSE Enterprise Telecoms specialises in providing high capacity, long distant fibre, optical and ethernet services and Nextgenaccess’ new 60km fibre route nearing completion between Bradley Stoke and its data centre was thought to be ideal.
Mark Weller, managing director of Nextgenaccess, said: "We very pleased to be meeting SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ requirements.
"Nextgenaccess is able to respond more quickly than most to the growing capacity demands of carriers and mobile operators by using our DPA / PIA powers and also specialist non-road fibre expertise.
"We can deploy full fibre infrastructure in strategic areas of the UK more easily and be more cost-effective than our competitors."
