Dropbox signs first independent distie agreement with Nuvias
Nuvias has signed a distribution agreement with collaboration and storage firm Dropbox in a deal that will bring smart workplace tools to key northern European territories, the company has revealed.
The deal marks the first time that Dropbox has taken on an independent distributor, with features such as sophisticated cloud storage, integrations with leading collaboration tools, and intelligent search being added to existing products sold through Nuvias' Unified Communications (UC) umbrella.
Dropbox, which is headquartered in San Francisco, now has more than 500 million registered users across 180 countries, including an estimated 400,000 business accounts. That also includes Nuvias, something which the company believes places it in a good position to help channel partners take full advantage of the tools available.
"We are excited about the new partnership with Dropbox, demonstrating our continued commitment to help our channel partners tap into new revenue streams and strengthen existing customer relationships," said Steve Harris, CEO of Nuvias UC.
"We have been avid users of Dropbox at Nuvias UC since our company was founded in 2009, moving from personal Dropbox accounts to the fully managed Dropbox Business solution as our business grew," added Harris.
"We have witnessed first-hand how Dropbox can benefit businesses and we are in an ideal position to support channel partners from a technical perspective to integrate this new offering with other products within their portfolio."
Naveed Malik, head of EMEA Channels for Dropbox, said the partnership will "help us accelerate out channel program and value services, whilst jointly leveraging the close relationships with leading UC vendors to build smart workspaces".
The deal comes just weeks after the launch of Dropbox Spaces, a major update to its storage and collaboration platform. The upgrade introduced smarter search tools, better collaboration features across folders, made it easier to see relevant updates from the rest of your team, and added new integrations for things like calendars and document signing tools.
