Nordics Data Centre Firm ‘Moves Closer To Customers’ With London Base And New Hires
Nordics fibre services and data centre operator Bulk Infrastructure has opened a London office and hired senior executives for its growing operations. With new oncoming international fibre routes and data centre campuses in Denmark and Norway, Bulk is attracting customers from outside the Nordics region, it says.
“Setting up a UK-based office in London is a natural thing for us to do now. Our portfolio with international customers is growing and it’s important to be even closer to our clients,” said Bulk CEO Jon Gravråk.
In March 2019, Amazon Web Services signed an access agreement with Bulk and more companies will follow, said Gravråk
Rob Elder has now been appointed as vice president of Nordics sales for Bulk’s data centres business unit. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the data centre industry through Keysource and CBRE.
Elder said: “The team at Bulk have set out a clear strategy and have already made a significant investment to combine low cost, highly resilient renewable energy and high capacity fibre connectivity delivered at scale. This is a region that offers a huge potential for sustainable digital infrastructure and data centre development.”
And Warren Barrie has been appointed as international sales director for the data centres unit. He has experience at Global Switch, Virtus Data Centers and Digital Realty, operating in senior executive and sales director/business development director roles.
Barrie said: “Bulk has boldly taken proactive steps to enable companies to transition into the Nordics region quickly and easily with its involvement in the deployment of the new trans-Atlantic fibre route Havfrue, that links the region with low latency connectivity to all global markets.”
