Colt Technology Services has this week announced that it will further extend its presence in Japan by expanding the Colt IQ Network to Kyoto and Kobe.

Colt is bringing its Colt IQ Network to these two important cities, to meet the growing demand from customers for increasingly vital connectivity solutions in the region.

The Asia Pacific region has been a focus for Colt for the past few years, with the organisation investing significantly in increasing its Optical and Ethernet infrastructure in Singapore and Hong Kong. Moreover, the backbone has been upgraded to 100Gbps, network redundancy between Tokyo and Osaka is realized and Nagoya was added to our new business area in Japan, as well as recently announcing the expansion of the IQ Network to Australia.

The expansion to Kyoto and Kobe is the latest in a series of network developments recently announced by Colt. Last year Colt grew its IQ Network significantly, with the business announcing rollouts and expansions in the US, Spain, Dublin, Berlin and Eastern Europe. These expansions now see the Colt IQ Network connect to more than 27,500 on-net buildings and over 900 data centres globally. In Asia, The Colt IQ Network connects to more than 90 data centres and 2,500 buildings, playing an essential role in Colt’s ever-growing global footprint.

Colt’s President and Regional Executive for Asia, Kenji Hioki said: “As an organisation, Colt has an unwavering focus on ensuring that our network is present where ever our customers want to do business, and that is no different for Colt Asia. We strive to enable our customers next wave of business growth, and we are confident that by extending the Colt IQ Network into Kyoto and Kobe, we can do just that.”

“This coupled with Colt’s partnerships with the key cloud providers in the region, ensures that Colt Japan has all of the requirements to create the connectivity ecosystem required for businesses both locally and globally to grow and thrive in the digitally enabled environment of today.”

The Colt IQ Network is currently live in Kyoto and is expected to be live in Kobe in September 2019.
