Python is a general-purpose high level programming language that is being increasingly used in data science and in designing machine learning algorithms.
The total area of the Colt DCS data centre in operation now amounts to just over 32,291 sq ft, which according to the company is their response to the high demand for colocation services in the region.
The new data centre extended area was completed in four months, and has disaster recovery facilities as well as meeting rooms and a scalable power supply system.
“Hamburg has become a very important site for us. The new investment is a logical response to the high demand for our services,” said Falk Weinreich, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Colt Data Centre Services.
“This gives our customers planning security and the highest possible flexibility for their growth, strengthening their economic standing in the region.”
Elsewhere, the company announced extensive expansion plans last year for the Paris metro revealing goals of adding an additional 6.9MW of capacity to its flagship data centre in Paris.
In keeping with the theme of European expansion, Colt also announced its plans to build six new data halls at its flagship London North data centre in September 2018. The six halls form part of the first phase of a major expansion project at the site, which will eventually comprise in total ten new data halls.
The delivery of the first two halls was expected to be complete by Q1 this year.
The company expressed that Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt are three of Europe’s most attractive investment locales hence growing demand for colocation space from operators such as Colt DCS which maintains data centres in those cities.
The German Trade and Investment (GTAI) Group estimates investment in the country’s data centre market will reach €13.3bn by the year 2020 in comparison to €8.8bn in 2015.
