Nycomm Snaps Up Bristol Company for Undisclosed Sum

Posted by Admin | February 27, 2017 | Unified Commuication

This latest deal expands Nycomm’s nationwide geographical reach and provides Pennine with a new platform to grow further.

Communications supply specialist The Nycomm Group has expanded with the acquisition of Bristol-based Co-Channel Electronics for an undisclosed sum.

Co-Channel specialises in two-way radio and wireless communications and serves a broad range of clients across the West Country. It’s the latest business to join £100m turnover Nycomm following the purchase of Bury -based communications and data specialist Pennine in December last year.

This latest deal expands Nycomm’s nationwide geographical reach and provides Pennine with a new platform to grow further.

Co-Channel’s staff and operations will be integrated within Pennine’s national PennineRadio division and its

Bristol premises will be retained as a regional technical and sales support hub.

All Co-Channel staff are being retained by Pennine, with the exception of former joint owner Teresa Griffiths who is retiring. Founder and managing director John Crawford is being retained on a consultancy basis.

Nycomm Group dials up with Pennine acquisition

“Co-Channel is an excellent fit for our business. That’s due both to the respect the business and its staff command for technical excellence and the growth which PennineRadio is already enjoying in the South West,” said Nycomm group chairman, Julian Niman.

“This acquisition will facilitate further growth and provide us with additional resource as part of an expanded geographical presence in both the South West as well as northern England and London.”

Pennine already provides two-way radio installation, supply and maintained contract services to an array of private and public sector organisations across the country including the Hinkley Point C construction site in Somerset.

The Bury-headquartered company was itself founded as a two-way radio servicing specialist in 1976. It has since extended its expertise to embrace unified communications, mobile telephony, wired and wireless networking, cloud and IT services.

The acquisition is the latest to be completed by The Nycomm Group since it snapped-up Pennine late last year.

The group is now gearing up to hit the £150m revenue mark.
