Entrepreneur Alastair Mills Set to Make Millions When His Telecoms Group Six Degrees Lists Next Year in £200m Flotation

Alastair Mills has come a long way from the days when he sold stolen bicycles bought at police auctions to fellow students.

The 44-year-old entrepreneur is set to make millions when his telecoms group Six Degrees lists next year in a £200m flotation.

Mills, who founded the London company five years ago, is the second-biggest shareholder.

He was previously the boss of SpiriTel from 2005 to 2010, becoming one of the youngest chief executives of a British-listed company when he was appointed at 32. SpiriTel, which was backed by Penta Capital, was sold to Daisy Plc for £37m in 2010.

Private-equity backer Charlesbank, which bought Six Degrees in June 2015, is understood to be working with advisers at Liberum on listing plans.

The flotation would provide a boost to British business, which has seen a slowdown in the number of firms listing on the London stock market.

The number of flotations has fallen to its lowest since 2012 after a string of firms, including Misys, TI Automotive and PureGym, pulled out of planned listings.
