CenturyLink Wins US Senate Deal Worth Up to $26m

Posted by Admin | December 22, 2016 | Unified Commuication

CenturyLink has won a contract worth up to $26 million to provide unified communications to members of the US Senate and their offices.

The initial contract runs three years and is valued at $11.4 million, but it can be extended a year at a time for up to four years, at $3.8 million a year.

Erich Sanchack, senior vice president and general manager of federal solutions at CenturyLink, said: “We’re committed to providing innovative, cost-effective solutions that help agencies transform and modernise their legacy systems.”

The unified communications-as-a-service platform will provide voice over IP services to more than 450 Senate offices in all 50 states of the US. The contract includes the installation, maintenance, operation and management of CenturyLink-supplied hardware, software, training and help desk support.

“CenturyLink looks forward to providing US Senate state offices with a modern, secure unified communications system that offers senators and their staff members more features and functionality,” said Sanchack.

At the end of October 2016 CenturyLink agreed to acquire Level 3 Communications for $34 billion, though the deal is not expected to be completed until late 2017.
